And the first of the angels was singing

in English;

land, sea and river

are Thine.

River, sea, flood-gates,

vents are Thine.

And the second of the angels sang

in the language of angels;

my love might well have been Thine,

but you have no self-control,

my love might well have been Thine,

even in the dessicating bush,

my love would have been Thine and my kisses.

But sea, welkin, firmament with so stooped a dome,

are Thine.
