From Andy C (11.04):
The answer is: it depends.
And the thing it depends on is that fantastic get out clause that is free
will. For your average Christian, the world is a wonderful place where God's
love bathes them in rapturous glory. The little bits of reality that intrude
on this divine smog (children blown up at school, churches burned to the
ground, slaughter of innocents etc.) are caused not, as you'd think, by God,
but by men (and women) specifically going against God's will.
Of course, if you're a proper Christian and you believe in an omniscient
creator then there's no such thing as free will and all those dead people,
while sad, are simply serving their role in life, and are shuffling onto a
better place anyway.
Satan must also be a creation of God, and so then should Judas. This is
essentially a question about whether Bad People - Hitler, Bush, Jason
Donovan
(and Judas) - would be rewarded for their sins and crimes, as they obviously
had a big part to play in the grand scheme of things.
Of course, this also depends on whether or not God exists. And as he
probably*
doesn't we can all claim to have Him on our side and not actually be lying.
we're all winners here.Cheers
Andy
